Multiprogramming is the technique of running various programs at a time using timesharing. It permit a computer to do various things at the same time. Multiprogramming form logical parallelism. The concept of multiprogramming is that the operating system simultaneously keeps various jobs in memory. The operating system choose a job from the job pool and begin executing a job, when that job have to wait for any i/o operations the CPU is switched to another job.
