Compiler: A compiler is a special program which processes statements written in a specific programming language and turns them into machine language or "code" which a computer's processor employs. Usually, a programmer writes language statements in language akin to C or Pascal one line at a time employing the editor. The file which is created comprises what are termed as the source statements. The programmer then runs the suitable language compiler; stating the name of the file which comprises the source statements.
