IIS stands for Internet Information Services which is created by the Microsoft to provide Internet-based services to the ASP.NET Web applications. This makes our computer to work as the Web server and provides a functionality to develop and deploy Web applications on a server. This server handles a request and response cycle on a Web server. It also offers services of SMTP and FrontPage server extensions. SMTP is used to send the emails and make use of FrontPage server extensions to get dynamic features of an IIS.
