What do you mean by the term BGP (or Border Gateway Protocol)?




Border Gateway Protocol is a protocol which is used to advertise the set of networks which can be reached within an autonomous system. BGP allows this information to be shared with the autonomous system. This is newer than the Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP).
