Amazon Corporate Culture - Confidential Internal Report Assignment
You are on the corporate communications staff at Amazon and you have been assigned a high priority task by the Amazon Board of Directors. They want you to write an internal report of action items for the Human Resources directors to receive, in response to the New York Times article which criticized the company culture of Amazon. You should create a document that addresses and suggests solutions (or refutes) key issues raised in the articles, in a professional and informative style. This is an internal document so you can directly address issues of ethics to the directors. What you write will be held confidential. The HR directors will use your report to create new policies and procedures for the company managers at all Amazon sites.
This is an imaginary exercise. As you are not actually an Amazon employee, you will use the articles provided and your imagination to create the document; you may do further research, but this does not require investigative reporting such as was done by the New York Times. Rather, your style, appropriate to the sensitive issues raised and for this particular audience, is what will be judged. Create a document for these top level executives at Amazon whom you have not met.
Minimum of 2.5 pages, single-spaced, as such a report would be.
