Unit cell is the smallest essential repeating portion of a crystal lattice from which the crystal is manufacture by repetition in 3-dimension.

Primitives (i.e., Intercepts): a, b, c

Crystallography:

The study of internal structure of crystal is termed as Crystallography. In the year 1913-English physicists, Father and Son, William and Lawrence Bragg generated X-ray crystallography further by establishing laws which govern the orderly arrangement of atoms in crystal interference and diffraction patterns. They also explained the wave nature of X-rays. In the year 1915 William Bragg and Lawrence Bragg were awarded Nobel Prize for physics for X-ray analysis of crystal structure.
