Circuit Breaker refers to the one that makes or breaks circuit. It consists of the two contacts which include fixed contact and moving contact. In normal condition, moving contact comes in contact along with the fixed contact hence making the closed contact for flow of the current. At the time of abnormal and faulty conditions (when the current exceeds the rated value) an arc is generated between fixed and moving contacts and hence, it makes the open circuit.
